Visionaire announces the release of ABACUS 2.0

- ATPL, CPL and IR exam prep at its best –

Aartselaar, December 18th 2002 - Visionaire launches ABACUS 2.0. This e-learning tool is especially customised for Flight Training Organisations (FTO’s) and their Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and Instrument Rating (IR) students under JAR/FCL.

ABACUS 2.0 sharpens the student’s knowledge required by JAR and trains the student the way the real exam will be presented. It contains more that 11000 questions in its database. By integrating ABACUS 2.0 in its curriculum, the FTO will have all the tools in-house to work on the quality of future airline pilots.

“Already in version 1.0 of ABACUS we helped more than 1000 ATPL students all over Europe to prepare for their JAR exam. ABACUS gave them the pace and the knowledge to pass the test” says Bernard Panier, CEO of Visionaire. “With ABACUS 2.0 we go a step further by giving FTO’s the possibility to incorporate ABACUS in pre- and post course evaluations and to keep track of test results which is a JAR requirement.”

ABACUS 2.0 has four powerful modules:
1. The TEST module uses a database with more than 11000 questions and allows the students to take three different tests: the random, JAR and FTO tests. The FTO test is an exam prepared by the FTO, JAR exams only contains JAR questions and emulate actual JAA tests and Random tests are user defined tests where questions are selected from the complete database.
2. Via the Statistics and Performance module, students can monitor their progress, keep track of test scores and redo exams anytime, anyplace until satisfied of the result.
3. The discussion Forum is the place where students can discuss all database question related subjects. The FTO can assign an instructor to follow the discussions and participate.
4. The FTO module allows the flight training organisation to manage student accounts, to analyse test results and to generate reports. This feedback can be used to evaluate the ground training program and to assure quality. Also, the FTO module is used to create, schedule and manage FTO exams.

ABACUS is an internet application which has all the features an FTO needs built in, without the need of managing a complex web application. Also ABACUS can easily be integrated in the FTO’s inter-/intra-net environment. It offers all the information the FTO needs to be compliant to JAR rules.
A demo of ABACUS 2.0 can be found on www.aerosolutions.be.
